Terms of service

Last updated: 4 October 2026

CertSheet is operated by Stephen Lue-Yen, Kingston, Jamaica. Contact: support@certsheet.com.

These terms cover your use of CertSheet at certsheet.com (“CertSheet”, “we”, “us”). By using CertSheet you agree to them. If you use CertSheet for an organisation, you agree on its behalf.

1. The service

CertSheet is a web application that generates certificate PDFs in your browser from a spreadsheet and a background you choose. Optional online verification, available on paid plans, publishes limited certificate details at certsheet.com/v/ so that third parties can check a certificate.

2. Acceptable use

CertSheet is for organisations and people issuing certificates for their own courses, training, events and awards. You must not use CertSheet to:

Before each batch is generated you must confirm: “I'm issuing these for my own course or event, or I'm authorized by the organization named on them.” For paid plans we keep a record that you ticked this confirmation, with the time.

If you break these rules, we will end your account without a refund. That means we permanently disable your licence key, revoke every certificate you published for online verification (their pages then show “Revoked”), and keep any payment you made, including payments still inside the 14-day refund period. We may also share information with an affected organisation or with law enforcement where the law allows. Anyone can report a certificate at certsheet.com/report.

3. Your content and responsibilities

4. Plans and licence keys

The Free plan is limited to 20 certificates per batch and adds a small footer line. Pro (monthly or yearly) and the Event Pass (7 days, one-time payment) raise the limit to 1,000 per batch, remove the footer and include online verification. Paid plans are unlocked with a licence key. Keys are for use by the purchaser and their organisation and must not be shared publicly or resold. We may disable keys that are shared publicly or used abusively.

5. Payments, merchant of record and taxes

Payments are processed by Polar Software, Inc. (“Polar”), which acts as merchant of record and reseller for CertSheet. Your purchase is made from Polar and is also subject to Polar’s terms. Polar collects any applicable sales tax or VAT. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. You can cancel any time through the Polar customer portal, and access continues until the end of the paid period.

6. Refunds

You can request a full refund of any payment within 14 days of that payment by emailing support@certsheet.com, unless your account was ended for breaking the acceptable use rules in section 2. Refunds are issued through Polar to the original payment method. Once a payment is refunded, the related licence key is deactivated. This does not affect any rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.

7. Online verification records

Published verification pages stay online after your plan ends so that certificates you issued keep verifying. Every page shows the issuer name you entered, the issue date and a link for anyone to report the certificate. You can revoke a batch at any time from the app, and we revoke batches that break section 2. Revoked certificates show as “Revoked”. To have records deleted, email support@certsheet.com from the email address used for your purchase.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep CertSheet available but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Because certificates are generated in your browser, keep your own copies of the PDFs you create. We may change features or these terms. Material changes to paid plans will be emailed to subscribers at least 30 days in advance, and you may cancel before they take effect.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

CertSheet is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose. Our total liability for any claim relating to CertSheet is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the content of certificates issued by our users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. The courts of Jamaica have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory right you have to bring proceedings where you live.
